Examination Regulations
1. Students should not take coats, briefcases, backpacks, headsets, or large purses into the examination room. If students must bring these articles into the examination room, they must be left at the front of the room and not brought to their seats.
2. Eating and drinking will be at the discretion of the subject teacher. Students are not permitted to wear ball caps while writing exams.
3. Other than normal writing instruments (such as pens, pencils, rulers and erasers), students must have the explicit permission of the teacher to use or have access to any examination aid such as textbooks, notebooks, tables, formulae, memoranda, other electronic or mechanical aids and the like.
4. Calculators may be used at the discretion of the teacher. Unacceptable machines at present include the following:
5. Students are required to turn off cell phones, watch alarms and/or pagers while writing exams.
6. All books, papers, etc. not specifically permitted as well as all communication devices must be deposited with the supervisor before the exam starts. This includes CD Players, MP3 Players, iPods, etc.
7. No student may leave the examination room during the first hour of the exam. Latecomers will be admitted to the examination room only during the first hour.
8. Students requiring assistance should raise their hands and not leave their seats.
9. Students found communicating with one another in any way or under any pretext whatever, or having unauthorized books, papers, or communication devices in their possession (even if their use be not proved) shall be subject to a mark of zero on that exam and a discipline policy step.
10. Students unable to write an examination at the time scheduled must notify the principal prior to the examination and must have a doctor's certification of illness.
