Course Description:
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Intermediate F.I. Language Arts 100.
This course is a continuation of the immersion programme. The course consists of seven components:
vocabulary, oral expression, literature, grammar, composition, role playing and culture. This course is to be taken
in conjunction with F.I. Modern History 110.
Texts: Découvertes, En direct 2, Florence, Bousille et les Justes and various readings
Assessment Methods:
1. Participation 10% (oral communication & expression)
Students will be expected to participate verbally in class discussions in French at all times.
2. Tests & Projects 50% (tests, assignments, quizzes, homework checks)
Major assignments & tests will be announced well in advance. Shorter assignments & quizzes will require less
notice. Homework checks will be done on a random basis.
3. Final Project 10% (oral expression - last week of classes)
4. Final Exam 30% (oral comprehension, written comprehension & written expression - see exam schedule)

1. Group work and individual assignments
2. Oral presentations including public speaking (art oratoire)
3. Teacher-led discussions & explanations
